About BitSafe

Decentralized infrastructure on Canton Network for institutions and builders.

/// About BitSafe

BitSafe builds decentralized, privacy-enabled digital asset infrastructure on the Canton Network. As the team who brought Bitcoin to Canton, BitSafe’s threshold-governed multi-sig infrastructure distributes custody and governance across independent operators, eliminates single points of failure, and enables institutions and developers to launch trading venues, deploy assets, and build compliant financial products across the ecosystem. BitSafe’s products include CBTC, the first non-native asset on Canton, and Decentralization Manager, the open-source framework for running Canton applications across independent nodes.

Products

Two products, one decentralized foundation.

/// Products

BitSafe’s products put decentralized infrastructure into production across the Canton ecosystem.

CBTC

CBTC is the first non-native asset on Canton Network, bringing 1:1-backed Bitcoin onto Canton through decentralized governance and custody.

Decentralization Manager

Decentralization Manager is an open-sourced layer for Canton enabling builders to launch decentralized applications across multiple independent nodes rather than a single node.

Proof points

Independently verified, audited, and adopted.

CBTC

First non-native asset on Canton Network. CBTC brought Bitcoin onto Canton as the first asset launched beyond the network’s native token.

More than 35 million transactions. CBTC has processed over 35 million on-chain transactions since launch.

Backed 1:1 by Bitcoin. CBTC’s backing is independently verifiable on-chain through Chainlink Proof of Reserve.

Secured across independent operators. The underlying Bitcoin is held in thousands of FROST-secured lockboxes across the Bitcoin network. Finoa, Nethermind, DSRV, and BitSafe participate as institutional operators.

Integrated across the Canton ecosystem. CBTC is available across 15+ live wallets, trading venues, and lending platforms.

Independently audited. CBTC’s smart contracts have been audited by Quantstamp.

Decentralization Manager

Proven in production through CBTC. The same decentralized infrastructure that powers CBTC is available to builders through Decentralization Manager.

Open source under Apache 2.0. The framework, application UI, Generalized Governance Core, Token Management Module, and Custody Module are available for teams to inspect and self-host.

Independently audited. Decentralization Manager has been audited by Quantstamp.

Backed by two Canton Foundation grants. The Canton Foundation Development Fund has committed 21,540,000 CC across two grants to launch and expand Decentralization Manager.

Brand story

Canton enables private on-chain finance. BitSafe makes it decentralized.

/// Brand story

BitSafe began with a conviction that decentralized infrastructure had to work under real institutional conditions. The team spent years building across digital asset networks, working through Bitcoin custody, threshold signatures, and multi-party governance. Each project pointed to the same requirement: institutions need infrastructure that distributes control without compromising security, privacy, or operational clarity.

Canton Network provided the right foundation. Its privacy model is built into the architecture, and its design supports financial applications that can operate across independent participants. BitSafe brought its experience in Bitcoin and FROST threshold signatures to Canton, launching CBTC as the first non-native asset on the network. CBTC showed that Bitcoin could move onto Canton through decentralized custody secured by independent institutional operators.

That production experience became reusable infrastructure. Decentralization Manager gives other institutions and developers an open-source framework for running Canton applications across independent nodes. Teams can distribute control through threshold governance or, as the framework expands, distribute hosting while one owner retains control.

BitSafe builds the infrastructure. Institutions and developers deploy it, configure it, and build on top. Each new asset, application, and integration extends what becomes possible across the Canton ecosystem.

/// 01 · Lockups, logomarks & icons

The BitSafe mark reflects custody and governance distributed across independent operators. Keep clear space equal to the height of the mark on all sides. Use the reversed lockup on dark backgrounds. Use the dark lockup on white or light grey only.

/// 1.1 CBTC LOGOS AND USAGE

CBTC brand assets are for exchange listings, partner integrations, and ecosystem materials that reference CBTC directly. Use the supplied files exactly as provided and keep CBTC in all caps.

Use CBTC when the context is the asset, and BitSafe when the context is the company. Do not rename CBTC, restyle the mark, or recreate lockups from scratch.
